History of the Team

The moment you walk into the modern, funky, red-and-black-accented Kiker Team office, you feel like family. Everyone stands to greet you with an enthusiastic, genuine smile. You could also ask any of the hundreds of clients who received the Kiker trademark –homemade chocolate cake – at their closings, freshly baked each time by Pam Kiker’s mom, Polly Seale, based on an old family recipe. “We are all about the people, not the product. Transactions are secondary,” said Pam Kiker, Owner/Operating Principal of Keller Williams Realty DTC and CEO/Owner of the Kiker Team. “From inception to the cake, we fill in every detail of the real estate process.” It is this special focus on personal connection and follow-through that Pam is most proud of since 1993 when her successful career started. By her side since 1999 has been her son, Chris Kiker. Chris left Vail and the mountain lifestyle behind to join his mom and create a family team. Together, they have closed over thousands of transactions and invested in in-depth professional training to form a strong, skilled group of experts that are devoted to the business.

The foundation that Pam has built is what Chris and the rest of the Kiker Team are ready to accept as a challenge and opportunity upon Pam’s retirement. If you know Pam, you know she will never depart completely. Pam is ready to step away from the everyday tasks and hand the reins over to Chris. She will always remain on in a consulting role. This transition is something Pam has strategically been planning for the past several years, keeping her team and the opportunity it leaves for them front of mind. “Chris and I have worked hard to recruit talent and treat them as professionals, allowing them to contribute to the team in their own unique ways to carry forward a sustainable business.” Tony Carnesi, who harkens back to the beginning when they worked in Pam’s basement passing a portable phone back and forth, is quick to praise Pam’s keen eye for business and love for the team. “Most realtors hustle to build a successful business for years, but when it comes time to stop, the last house they sell is just the last. Most don’t set themselves up for a legacy. Pam is passing on an authentic business model that is solidly in place for the next generation of the Kiker Team to succeed.” Tony is a great example of Pam’s focus on talent. He worked with the Kiker Team for 11 years and is now Team Leader in the KW DTC office, overseeing over 500 Realtors. Pam beams, “I’m blessed to have a team that I am proud of. We know what we are good at and we do it well.” That authentic thread carries over to the client relation side of the business.

Pam and Chris place integrity at the heart of everything they do to ensure a positive client experience. They connect with each client 33 times a year. “We never miss a birthday or anniversary.” Ninety-eight percent of their business is based on referrals and they enjoy countless repeat clients. “Over the years we have bought refrigerators and hot tubs among other items that we inadvertently left out of a buyers’ contract. But it goes beyond that. We operate in full transparency every step of the way,” said Pam. “When you create a culture of caring for one another, everything gets taken care of. I have a great team around me to carry on what I started. You don’t stay in something for over 25 years that you don’t love.” Authenticity, consistency, legacy. These are the stamps of the Kiker Team that are bound to continue taking this team far and make Pam proud for years to come.
